4.0 out of 5 stars Great looking bike, decent components, fair price., February 14, 2012
This review is from: Diamondback 2012 Overdrive 29'er Mountain Bike (Black) (Sports)
The Overdrive 29er looks tough. Huge tires, big front shock, disc brakes and very black. For my taste, it could even be blacker. I'd love to get rid of the fat white stripe on the top bar.

It's a comfy ride. I'm 6" (32' inseam) and got a large, which feels comfortably big. It'll be my ride for an upcoming XTerra Triathlon on trails, but mostly it's going to be a city cruiser, to which it seems very well suited.

Also, the price is very right. It was the best 29er I found, with disc brakes, around $500.

Really the only drawback are the gears. They work, but not beautifully, and they don't inspire much confidence to ride hard.

Other than that, be prepared for some assembly. It's a nice little DIY project and comes with useful instructions and tools. Still I needed a few other tools and some Googling to get it right, especially to adjust the derailleurs.

Have fun. I'm off for a ride!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bike, April 18, 2012
You get what you paid for. This bike is ideal... riding around the neighborhood, hitting hike and bike trails, and riding in the park. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg, mine came with free adjustments and so forth and so on. I suggest this bike to anyone interested in an entry level mountain bike

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Bike, June 9, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
You get what you pay for, $550 to my door I got a lot with this bike. The bike is solid, well built, perfect for the rocks I find around flagstaff. I love this bike and would not hesitate recommending it to someone looking for a solid entry level bike that will still leave some money in the bank. You will need to do some basic assembly, not difficult if you know what your doing. If you have never made any tuning to your bike in the past, you may or may not need some help. All in all the bike is very easy to assemble. Mine did not come with any tools that I could find, so be prepared to break out your tool box if needed, a standard multi bike tool should have everything you need and you should have one if your buying this bike. Shipping wieght was 44lbs, the bike is 33lbs assembled, I have the 20inch /large.
